Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner 2010 "Dinner With the King" - November 20th

 Just 16 day until our Pre-Thanksgiving "Dinner with the King". Please be praying for all those that the Lord will bring. We pray that they will see the Gospel lived out. Pray for provisions for food and supplies that are needed. Last year we hosted 110 people from 2pm - 6pm, amazing!!

Here are a list of needs that we have for the outreach and the ministry house:

6 Turkeys

1 large ham

Electric skillet/fry pan

Cutting boards (4 large)

Cutting knifes

Paper plates (10” & dessert)

Paper Bowls

Paper Napkins 

Plastic or paper table cloths (white or fall colors)

2 Electric Hot plates

Large coffee maker (makes 40+ cups of coffee)

Paper coffee cups

Large 5lbs bag of coffee beans 

 

Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner

A dozen people showed up to help chop, mix, and plan for this year's Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner.  110 people helped to put a dent in the mounds of food that were donated, purchased, and prepared for their arrival.  Friends, coworkers, neighbors, fellow servants, and new faces who came because of the banner hanging on the front porch or 75 invitations that were handed out.  Looks of wonder crossed several faces as they were welcomed to our home for dinner.  Everyone had their full, many took home a plate, and all were blessed by their dinner with The King.

  

3rd Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner

This has to be our favorite outreach!  We love the fellowship that it brings.  Our vision this year was to invite parents of the kids that we minister to and to fellowship with those we minister to through out the year.  It had a feeling of a family meal at our house. The women were chatting it up at the dinner table laughing and having a great time.  The kids were in the back yard jumping on the trampoline, playing soccer, and having a blast. We were blessed with lots of help from different Calvary’s in this area.  We had our traditional "Soul Food" meal with Greens, Gumbo, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, Fried chicken, ham, and fried turkey and much more.  This year’s talk of the table was the punch.  One of the ladies that came last year made it and we served it again this year.  Someone named it “crack punch” because you can’s stop drinking it.  It has a high concentrate and Aimee kept trying to add more water to it.  She almost got mobbed!  When each family left they took home a home made loaf of bread make by a friend of ours.  She individually wrapped each loaf and had this scripture attached to it “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations” Psalm 100:4-5.  Dwayne gave each of the women a long stem red rose.  One mom commented that the last rose she got from anyone was last year at the dinner.

Thank you to all of those who prayed for this event and supported us.  We are so blessed by what the Lord is doing with His ministry. 

2nd Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner

Right before Thanksgiving we moved into a neighborhood that is 1 mile away.  It was not our choice to do this but God had other plans for us. Two months later we put together our 2nd annual Pre-Thanksgiving dinner.  We invited our new neighbors and our old neighbors!  We had 2 teams come and help us!  They were from Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara and Calvary Chapel Vail Valley.  Thank you for all of your help.  There were 52 people that came and 27 of them were kids!  It was a full house but a great time of fellowship!

PRE-THANKSGIVING DINNER   November 2005

We invited our neighbors to come to a Pre-Thanksgiving dinner at our house.  It was great to see the diversity of people that attended.  We were blessed to have 40+ people attend!  We had a HUGE smoked turkey donated by a local restaurant and lots of great side dishes brought by APC and friends.
