CFC First Service - June 6th 2010

It was an awesome 1st service at CFC on the 6th.  God's word was preached and we walked away more in live with the gospel.  Dwayne is starting in the Gospel according to Mark.  Thank you to all of you who have been praying for the birth of CFC.  Please continue to pray as this will be a long road but one that will glorify the Lord!  Blessings!

Greetings!  Forgive us for not posting prayer last week.  We did meet and it was a fruitful time of prayer.  This week we are praying over building, community and starting a video study "Gospel of Life" by Tim Keller.  Blessings faithful partners!

CFC Prayer and Worship

Tonight we are going to be praying over and reviewing CFC's Core Values, Mission Statement, and Statement of Faith.  

Blessings to all of you who have been faithfully interceding and been on your knees as we labor together to birth Community Fellowship Church.

Integrity

Ps 25:21

May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.

When we think of integrity, we frequently think of a man of integrity being honest and trustworthy, but integrity is more than that.

Integrity is of the heart. Integrity looks deep within and pulls out what God has created. Indeed the heart is the source of integrity. I cannot buy it, I cannot learn it, I cannot create it. It is something within us that only God can create.

Prov 21:2  Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord  weighs the heart.

The world evaluates a person's integrity from what it sees in man's outward behavior. God judges integrity from what He sees in a man's heart. 

Titus 2:7-8

Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

 

Stewardship

Ps 24:1

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,

We believe that the Bible teaches that God invites us to trust Him with three major areas of our lives related to stewardship:

1) Our time--what we do;

2) Our talent--who we are;

2) Our treasure--what we have.

We're intentionally journeying together toward lives of stewardship.  God owns everything and all of me.

1 Chron 29:11

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.

 

Trust

We are a ministry that is crazy enough to put our total trust in Jesus and not in money, people, programs, religion, or anything else to fulfill His goal for this ministry.  Because of the gospel, we can "Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
 and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

CFC Prayer

Humility:

Christ has set us an example of humility (Phil 2:6-8). Humility is rooted in God’s holiness and our sinfulness. Our aim is to remember that God created us out of nothing. Therefore, until a man is nothing, God can make nothing out of him. Martin Luther . 

Why is humility so important? It’s begins with a sense of subordination to God in Christ. "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master" (Matthew 10:24). "Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God" (1 Peter 5:6). Second we have not obtained perfection and we stay humble in order to steadily grow and develop to the maturity of Christ “ God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble” James 4:6b . Pride is the biggest fall of man. Third, we will look to God to unmasked the pride that in our hearts and ask the Lord to make humility our greatest friend.

We do not want to be arrogant. We want to be teachable in the things of Christ in order to learn. We are sinners saved by the grace of God.

Reaching:

1. Upreach
 (Prayer and Worshiping)

We believe that loving God is man's highest calling and our relationship to Him is our highest priority. All ministry flows out of this relationship.

John 4:23-24 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

“God…is our “audience” in worship. It is His approval that we are to seek “ Ron Owen.

Worship is our response to God the Father who alone is worthy of our praise. It is our desire at CFC to worship God in all circumstances. Thus worship applies to all of a Christians life!  Everything in our life should be an act of worship.

 

2. Inreach: (Equipping & Ministering to believers)


As members of a spiritual family, we seek to equip one another for service and to grow to spiritual maturity. Thus, we seek to be trained according to the Bible, which we believe is the "owner's manual" for our lives.

It’s our personal commitment before God and toward one another that we encouraged one another by abiding in Christ, obedience in God’s word, effective prayer, and fellowship together. (John 15:4 Deuteronomy 28:15 Heb 10:25 Acts 2:42)

 

3. Outreach:(Ministry to the world!)

Matt 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples. We at CFC will seek to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ through Missions by local outreach and abroad. The hope is that the fellowship, love of the saints, and godly living will attract unbelievers to the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been given the gospel so that we might make Christ known to all people. The gospel is the power of God to break men free of the darkness of this world.  We look forward to planting seeds of hope.  At CFC we will go into our neighborhoods and the world because God called us to live in the world, in a way that draws attention to Christ.

Repentance:

 Lord give us a heart of repentance that we may never be to prideful to confess our sins to you.

·      Ps 38:17-18 For I am ready to fall, and my pain is ever before me. 18 I confess my

iniquity; I am  sorry for my sin.

Trusting in the LORD not man:

·      Fear of man

·      Doubting

·      What other churches will say

·      Fund to operate the church

·      Ps 118-1-27

 

Evangelize

·      Lord is calling people to the wonderful cross

·      Lord give us the land

·      Silent prayer walk in the neighborhood!

·      Believe that the Lord is going to give us the land

·      Josh 1:1-3

1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, 2 "Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. 3  Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.

 

Missionary minded

·          Mission is the central purpose of the church in the world.

o   Act 1:6-11 mission begin

·      Mission gives us a heart for the lost.

1.    God is glorified in mission

2.    When mission is done the gospel of Christ is proclaimed.

3.    It brings joy to the Father

4.    It starts with the Gospel. We must have a heart for the gospel. A heart for the gospel means we have a heart for God

Committed: We here at CFC are committed to the centrality of the Gospel.  We believe the gospel is something we are called to live or to do. The gospel is the good news that we are to announce and receive. (Roman 10:15) The gospel is the glorious message of the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. (1Corinthains 15-1-4) The gospel is news that is to be broadcasted, it is to be announced, it is to be shared, preached, taught, and communicated so that sinners who are under God’s wrath will repent of their sins and trust in Christ alone for salvation.  Our goal at CFC is that we will not be ashamed of the gospel but rely on the power of the gospel to change our lives. That’s why it is called the good news. Phil 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

o   Our heart’s need to be right for the Lord!

o   Not building a church for the glory of man but for the glory of the Lord.

·       Ps 89:18-22 

For our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel. Of old you spoke in a vision to your godly one, and said: "I have granted help to one who is mighty;

Prayer for CFC - February 14th

1) And it shall be said, "Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people's way. Isa 57:14

• 1.    Finding a building
• 2.    Overcoming culture boundaries

2) Pray for core value:

Matt 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

3) Repenting heart and believing heart

Mark 1:14-15 14  Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

4) The kids in neighborhood:

Mark 10:14 "Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.

5) Churches in the community that are relationship which each other would be fruitful and God center.

Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

·      Then he called for Solomon his son and charged him to build a house for the Lord, the God of Israel. 7 David said to Solomon, "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house to the name of the Lord my God.

§  We must have a desire to build the LORD’s House!

 

·      Reaching people with the Gospel!

o   Asking the LORD to give us a heart for people who are lost and don’t Him!
